Look of the Week
This week's 'Look of the Week' is Sophia Bush's clingy full length gown. I love the print and the split is fab! I love the length of the sleeves - an unusual length but I really like it. The print is also really nice. It's different to anything I've ever seen on a gown before. The whole dress is absolutely gorgeous and there's a hint of fashion-forwrdness in it. I'd love to see more dresses with sleeves like this! :) x

Look of the Week: Nicole Sherzinger
Look of the Week just HAS to be this jahmazing (see what I did there?!) gown Nicole Sherzinger wore for the first part of The X Factor final last night. I love the shape and the colour. The whole thing over-all is a work of art! I couldn't wait for Nicole's outifts this X Factor season, however, she let me down almost every time! I didn't lose hope though and I was delighted last night when she came out in this! I can't wait to see what she pulls out of the bag tonight! x

Make me up!
For my 16th birthday, I took a trip to Brown Thomas with my mom and finally got some decent make up! I got MAC. I've never had proper foundation, I've always used the cheap stuff so this was a treat for me! I'm going to give an account of each product (they'll all be glowing, believe me!), so enjoy! I've put the name of each at the bottom of the picture, so you know. Everything here, apart from the brushes is MAC.
Right, this is everything together - the make up, the brushes and the bag. The whole nine yards, you could say!
First up are the brushes (as you may have already noticed!) - I didn't get them from MAC though, because I think most brushes do the same thing. These are from the body shop. I have a powder, foundation, blush and eye shadow. They're soft against my skin, and spread the foundation evenly.
The foundation I have is NW20. I'm not that up on my make up that I know exactly what that is, however the shades go up in 5's, so the next one down is 15 and the next one up is 25. It came with a sponge however I use a brush because I think it spreads it more evenly but you can use either.
NW20 |
There are two different types of blush - a 'wet' one and a powder one. I got the powder but my mom has the 'wet' one. There's not much difference in the colour, the wet one is just more like a foundation. The powder has a really nice shimmer in it, something that the 'wet' one is missing.
Dainty |
Eyeshadow! :D I never, ever wear eyeshadow because I think some of the strong colours can be a bit gawdy. But I love, love this colour! The picture doesn't do it justice. It's a light white-gold and it has tons of shimmer running through it. I love the look it gives your eyes, and the colour catches the light which gives extra dimension to your eyelid.
A natural flirt |
I got liquid concealer, and although it came with a small brush (in the pic!) I use the foundation brush to get it more even. This is the same tone as the foundation (NW 20). This is really good to cover redness and even out your skin before you put on the foundation.
NW20 |
And where would you be without a little lippy?! This colour is so nice. All you need is one layer as it stays on for ages. (It also smells really nice!)
Captive (A82) |
And then a slick of eyeliner! Eyeliner is my thing. If I could have only one item of make up, it would be eyeliner. It makes your eyes look instantly gorgeous and it makes them pop. You can't see the colour properly here, but it's a shiny brown...the shimmer in it compliments the eyeshadow when you wear them together.
Lord it up |
And after all that, I had get a bag to keep all of this safe! This is just a bag from Penneys, but I fell in love with it when I saw it! It's really stylish and the perfect size. I love the gold studs and zip. Some make up bags may as well be suitcases! I just wanted something small and handy. And that's exactly what I got!
I didn't get mascara, as I didn't think there was much point. There's not much difference between the brands. The one I use at the moment is Essence. Nothing fancy but it does the job! ") x

Look of the Week: Mollie King
It was so hard to choose a 'Look of the Week' but, it just had to be Mollie King's stylish coat. One of my favorite things for winter time are coats that you can put on and instantly have an outfit. And Mollie's is one of those. I love, love, love this! The black lining is such a small detail but it adds so much more to it. I love how she's teamed it with tan. It was hard to choose, but I think this outfit was definitely worthy!! x

High-waisted Love!
Posting my first full outfit today!! I know I haven't posted in a while...but I've been trying to figure out what to do on the blog...so I've come to a decision....I'll keep doing what I was doing but I'll just add in more of my own looks...I'd like to be able to make different pages but I haven't yet figured out how to do that! If anyone knows how...please leave a comment for me! Thanks!
So here's my first full outfit for you guys! I just got these short in New Look the other day...I've been looking high and low for a pair of denim shorts and the fact that they're high-waisted was a bonus! You can't see it here, but there's an exposed zip in the back (gold-for extra luxury! ;) )....the small things add so much detail and style to them...here I've teamed them with this simple black and white t-shirt, black leggings, grey ugg boots and a maroon snood. I'm a sucker for all things black and white...and grey is my favorite colour (I know, boring!) but I never let my outfit go without a splash of colour...and this snood does exactly that. It's cosy and stylish-my kinda item! ;) This outfit is going to be my go-to look for emergencies! It's comfortable and stylish-what more could you want!?! x

Look of the Week
Pippa Middleton gets 'Look of the Week' this week....I haven't done this in a while-sorry for being MIA!! What an outfit Pippa showed up in earlier this week! The shape is fabulous....put any print on that and ti'll look amazing! Understanding what season we're in, Pippa keeps the colour scheme subtle and understated. I absolutely love the shape of this dress....she looks comfortable yet stylish! She's in the middle of promoting her new book Celebrations so there should be plenty more to come! Check back here! x

I want!!
Sorry I haven't posted in a while..I was having some technical issues! Anyway, I'm back on track now and I've found a great site for all you fashionistas! www.thufri.com sells bags like the ones I've posted below...they're handbags on canvas bags, so you can go shopping in style! These ones are the biggest and most expensive-selling at $65.00, but they range from purses to make-up bags Instead of bringing an old straw one with you to Tesco, express your inner fashionista with one of these! Me likes!! ") x

Look of the Week
This was really supposed to be last week's 'Look of the Week', but, as you can see, it didn't happen...I've been MIA! But I'm back now "). Also, just to clarify, I decided against changing the address of my blog...It'll stay 'fashionista1510.blogspot.com. Anyway, onto Pippa! She wore this dress at - yet another - wedding last week. Nude is really big right now, so she was right on trend. I like how she used different shades of essentially the same colour. The darker jacket, the lighter hat, not to mention that her hair compliments the colours perfectly! Her dress is fashion forward with the laser-cut design, but somehow it manages to still look elegant. So there you have it, the perfect wedding guest! (I think by now Pippa could write a book on it!) x

Update:
I have decided to change my blog around a little. Starting with the name....it's changed from 'fashionista1510.blogspot.com (Fashionista)' to 'memyselfandstyle1510.blogspot.com (Me, Myself and Style)'. I have also decided to change the content of the blog a little. I'll be posting more of my own clothes and my own looks. I'll still post things about celebs and I plan to continue 'Look of the Week' aswell. Another post I am thinking of starting is 'Sourced'. This is when I find something I like in a store or online and I post it to you and give you my thoughts on it. I hope you like the new name! If you have any suggestions please comment below :) x

64th Emmy's: The Best.....And The Worst!
The 64th Emmy's were on last night and there was plenty of gorgeous gowns on show, but I've chosen my favorite! Claire Danes definitely came out on top. I love the fabric...very different. I like how it doesn't have a lot of structure...the fabric just flows. The colour really suits Claire, and it compliments her blonde hair. I love this look...definitely a winner for me!
Claire Dane: BEST |
But not everyone was as flawless as Claire! The FLOP of the Emmy's was definitely Michelle Dockery. She showed up in this frumpy blue-and-mesh creation....If the fabric of the dress wasn't bad enough, there's a horrible mesh top, which doesn't compliment the colour of the dress at all. But worst of all, it's a wrinkly mess! You can clearly see the lines from when she was sitting down and all down the sides are wrinkled. This definitely is an almighty FLOP!
Michelle Dockery: WORST |

Look Out: Eva Longoria
I haven't done a 'Look Out' in forever, but this was one I just couldn't pass up! Eva Longoria hosted the ALMA Awards the other evening and she wore gowns galore! They were all fabulous but it was this one that really caught my eye. It's a different take on the 'Bondage' dress, and yet it's still stylish and appropriate for the occasion. I love the colour-it really suits her skin tone. There's not one thing wrong with this look! What do you think? x

Solomon Islands/Tuvalu: Day 8!
Her first outfit today was this summery yellow dress. I love the design, which looks almost laser-cut and the skater style skirt is so pretty! I also really like the sleeves, they're an unusual length and I like how they're wide. She paired the dress with these brown wedges-they're simple yet effective. The best bit of this outfit, however, was her colour-coordinating fan! Love it!
look.co.uk |
Her second outfit of the day was this traditional dress. I love seeing her in a casual maxi, a change! She looks fabulous...the dress really suits her and I like how she respects other cultures and isn't afraid to try new things. This dress looks great on her..she even danced a little! x

Malaysia/Solomon Islands: Day 5,6 and 7!
She's still going strong!
Proving she can do casual chic here, Kate dresses down for a visit to the Borneo Rainforest. I love the colour of her shirt.
graziadaily.co.uk |
I like seeing her in brighter colours, and this dress really suits her. I'm not crazy about the shape, but the colours are fabulous and I love the fashion-forward print. I love the nude accessories, she doesn't overshadow the dress.
graziadaily.co.uk |
She had originally brought another dress to wear to this event, but she was given this one as a gift, and liked it so much, she decided to wear it instead. I really like the colour, very different for her and I think she looks a lot better in bright colours. Nice to see her in something strapless, too.
graziadaily.co.uk |
I LOVE this dress! The colour is fabulous and it makes her face bright and cheery looking. The fabric looks nice and light, perfect for the heat over there! You can't see it very well in this picture, but there's a cute bow tied around her waist which completes the whole thing.
Hello Magazine |
Her final outfit today was this navy dress. It has a really nice print on it, although you can't see it here. I like the navy on her...there's a really nice colour on the dress and I love the belt. She has her shoes off in this picture, but she was wearing what are becoming her go-to shoes...her navy wedges. The looked great with the dress.

More to come as soon as she step out again! x

Malaysia: Day 4!
Kate Middleton wowed yet again today with her outfits in Malaysia....Both dresses were similar in color....look below.
She wore this Beulah London dress on a visit to a Mosque, where she showed her respect to their culture and covered her hair and took off her LK Bennett shoes. I love the buttons up the front of this dress and the light, flowing fabric. Definitely a winner!
look.co.uk |
Her other outfit today was this ice-blue and white lace Temperley dress. I love the detail...and the sheer sleeves are perfect for the heat over there. It's nice to see her wearing her hair up more, as I think it shows off her face.
graziadaily.co.uk |
All her outfits have been fabulous so far, but I wish she would wear a little more color....She's worn alot of non-color things since she's arrived, and although they're all nice, I think she looks better in brighter colors. We'll see what the next few days bring! x

Singapore/Malaysia: Day 2 and 3!
Kate Middleton hasn't disappointed with any of her outfits so far!
She wore this RAOUL dress later on in the day yesterday....I like the light fabric-perfect for the heat out there! The print is summery and I think it really suits her.
RAOUL |
Her first outfit of the day yesterday was this Sarah Burton for McQueen white two-piece. I love the navy wedges...She's worn them several times already and I like them more every time I see them! They're a higher heel than she normally wears and this neckline is also alot deeper! I like how she's decided to shake things up a little on this tour!
Sarah Burton for McQueen |
First up today was this duck egg blue Jenny Packham dress. I love, love, love the top! The skirt is also right on trend with the pleats...The detail at the top is just gorgeous-the intricate lace detail and the 3 quarter length sleeves make it. Her little parasol completes the look! She wore this as they finished up in Singapore and headed to Malaysia, where Kate made her first over-seas speech!

Singapore: Day 1!
Kate and William kicked off their Diamond Jubilee tour in Singapore today, and Kate didn't disappoint with her choice of apparel!
The first dress she wore was an oriental kimono-style Jenny Packham design, one of her favorites. I love the colour, it's different for her and it gives her skin a really nice glow. The oriental print is gorgeous and is just perfect for her fist day in Singapore! But it's the neck and waist line that really caught my eye. The neck-line is very low-cut compared to what she normally wears but I like how she's decided to try something different. The band around her waist gives the perfect amount of detail and I love how it floats out below. The three-quarter length sleeves balance out the dress and give the look a sophisticated twist. This one's definitely a winner for me!!
myfashionlife.com |
Her second outfit, a Prabal Gurung dress, stunned just as much as her first one. She doesn't always wear colour, so to see her in such a strong shade of purple was a nice change. The design is very fashion forward and I think prints like this are going to become very popular. It's saved from looking over-kill with the white breaking up the print and she keeps it simple with black accessories. The three-quarter length sleeves-seemingly a favorite of hers, are here again, and I think they finish off the dress perfectly. x

Trend Watch: Maroon
Maroon seems to be the thing to wear at the moment! I've seen several celebs this week wearing it and I think it will become a huge trend this autumn. My favorite look was Cheryl Cole's top-to-toe outfit. She looked so stylish and comfortable and the shoes just made it.

Rose of Tralee 2012
Congratulations to Nicola McEvoy who was crowned the 2012 International Rose of Tralee. Nicola represented Luxemborg, and I think she did a great job! The style of the roses on the interview nights left something to be desired, however, Nicola was one of the nicer ones. Seen here in the dress she wore for her interview, the red lace was elegant and the shape was gorgeous. She looked comfortable and the dress suited her down to the ground! Let me know what you think! x

X-Factor Style: Round 3!
Round 3, ding, ding! It's only just begun again, but already this year's X Factor is shaping up to be one heck of a fash-fest! Here, both women wowed-yet again! I love Nicole's. I love the Grecian look of the dress and the colour is just gorgeous. The gold band around her waist gives it the perfect amount of detail. I also love the subtle pleats and it really compliments her skin tone. I really like Tulisa's rainbow-striped dress. She is right on trend with the pastel colours. The only downfall of this dress is that it sticks out at a very strange angle in the back! However, the shape is gorgeous and I love the points at the top, and this overrules the back! Let me know what you think! x

X-Factor Style-Round 2!
Not a great picture, however, two gorgeous dresses! I absolutely love Tulisa's...I've seen it somewhere before, but I can't think on who! Nicole's is also gorgeous, I love the colour. However, I think this round has to go to Tulisa! Let me know what you think. X

Look of the Week
This weeks 'Look of the Week' goes to J-Lo's figure-hugging, electric blue dress! She wore it on a recent night out in LA and I think it is just fab!! I love the silver detail on the bust and up the back...very fashion-forward. I also really, really like the colour...not too summery, as we're coming into September but also keeping it fresh. Her sky-high shoes are gorgeous and I love how she kept her accessories neutral. Her hair is just perfect-the messy look was the right choice as it manages to keep all the focus on the dress. This look is a winner! x
